Many VAs are offering prospective clients the awesome benefit of “saving time” and “giving you your time back” and personally, I don’t think that’s enough anymore.

Even though we are all rushed for time these days – more than ever before – the promise of saving me time or giving it back isn’t enough to ease my particular business pains. Yes I’d like more time. But I actually would rather just swap my time from the tasks that make me groan, to the tasks that give me tingles! Not more time – just less LSTs! (Life Sapping Tasks).

Picturing you giving me more time is really a bit exhausting…Unless I can spend that time napping of course. So what do I really want from you? I want results!

What do I want to see in my business? Here are some examples:

  • I want those videos transcribed and loaded to my site
  • I want my procedures written up and looking gorgeous, ready and waiting for when I have new staff, a holiday or, heaven forbid, when I want to sell my business!
  • I want someone to manage my LinkedIn account so I’m not missing opportunities
  • I want someone who can return those calls that involve explaining what it is we do and how we help others
  • I want real things, and I want you to tell me you can do them

When you say you can save me time, you give me a job. That job is to now think of what I could pass on to you. Too hard! I don’t have time… J When I want to get more time to work on what I love – I don’t get a VA – I get a babysitter!

What I need from you is specifics. Tell me you know what my pain points are. Tell me you can make that pain go away.

A good plumber doesn’t just say they can save you time. And in fact, that is something they do – most services are there to save us time or effort. They tell us how. They fix your blocked drains. They repair that leak in the wall. They can install your dishwasher and make you smile every time you go to wash the dishes.

Be SPECIFIC. Tell me which pain YOU ease. And if I’m your ideal client, I’ll come knocking on your virtual door and beg you to come and help me out.
