ON THE VYVA WEBSITE

The VYVA website (general access) has a lot of information for you too.

Along with a fabulous resources page we have a section for new VAs called "Want to be a VA?"

This area includes links to the VA-developed Core Competencies standards, and pages helping you work out what you want from your business, how to promote it, how to set it up etc.

This area is always being updated with new additional information to support you.

Our membership fees page includes costs for further promotion on the VYVA network. We get a significant number of hits per day, so this is something you may want to consider.fEATURE va

We also have the team page which is listed as "find a virtual assistant!" You will be listed on this page with a link to your VYVA page (which provides a very valuable link to your site if you have one) - this is where potential clients go to see our list of VAs.

VYVA also has a semi-regular newsletter (usually monthly) which is sent to many subscribers who are both on the network and not on the network.

We provide you with the opportunity to be featured in these newsletters, so to better understand how this works, I highly recommend you subscribe to the newsletters using the link below.

VYVA also provides access to training seminars, conferences, fun informal chats and charity fundraisers online and competitions. You will hear all about these through the forum with details posted to the website.

NEW TO THE VYVA NETWORK

Hello! And welcome!

MAKING THE MOST OF VYVA

Your VYVA membership includes many benefits. Some of these benefits are included below:

YOUR VYVA PAGE:

As a member (unless you are on a trial basis) you will have a VYVA page created just for you. It will include your business name, contact details, logo, and information about the services you offer. You can include qualifications, awards, a couple of additional photos etc, as long as it works in with the existing page layout - this is your page, so make the most of it!

VYVA JOBLEADS

Jobleads are posted through the yahoo group forum and you will identify them because in the subject it always has “joblead: (basic description)”.

  • Email Rosie directly, OFF the forum.
  • If you respond in time to a joblead, Rosie will give you the contact details of the client and any additional information she has.
  • You need to contact the client asap (no later than 24 hours, but preferably straight away) to further chat about the work and how you could assist.
  • Remember, talking to a potential client is a 2-way street – you need to feel comfortable with them and the job, and they need to feel the same with you.

Unless I specifically ask for support with a project, the client will be the person who wants to hear what you can provide for them. After you obtain the details from me, you will need to contact the client as quickly as possible and speak to them about their needs. Usually you will be one of three or four VAs who will be provided with the contact details, so it is up to you to convince the client that you are the VA to go with. I highly recommend following up on a potential client if you have not heard from them. I do try to find out how the client went, but I am not involved in their selection process and I do not inform you whether you have the job or not.
