Jobleads and the Forums


Where do I find the jobleads?
Jobleads are posted through the yahoo group forum and you will identify them because in the subject it always has “joblead: (basic description)”.

How do I respond to jobleads?
To respond to jobleads you need to:

  • Email Rosie directly, OFF the forum.
  • If you respond in time to a joblead, Rosie will give you the contact details of the client and any additional information she has.
  • You need to contact the client asap (no later than 24 hours, but preferably straight away) to further chat about the work and how you could assist.
  • Remember, talking to a potential client is a 2-way street – you need to feel comfortable with them and the job, and they need to feel the same with you.

FORUMS OF VYVA

There are currently 3 separate forums for the VYVA network. FAQs about using the forum can be found below left.

VYVA NETWORK:

This forum is the one you must join to make the most of your membership. This is where I communicate all messages to members including the all-important jobleads.

Events, tips, resources, are all located in this group and this is where you can ask for advice, and help others with your advice, in a non-threatening environment.

VYVA-Families

This forum is where you can chat to other VAs about your home-life, family, kids, fur-babies, mother-in-laws etc! Most VAs are in similar situations, either planning families or with families, and this can have a bit influence on your business - so lets talk about it, but keep it separate from the main forum, which is for business.

VYVA-Mentoring

This is where we keep in touch about the VYVA Hopscotch Mentoring program. This program is still fairly new so there are bound to be many developments along the way.

All members can join the forum, whether they are partnered with a mentor/mentee or not. Ideas, feedback and celebrations about the mentoring program are all highly encouraged here/

FAQs for the Yahoo Groups Forums

Do I need to log in to read and send messages?
No, when you set up your account, you can direct all of your messages to your regular email account, so that all messages are sent to you directly. You will be able to send and receive from your regular email program, such as Outlook or Thunderbird etc. To send a message to the group use this address: vyvanetwork@yahoogroups.com

How do I attach my signature to messages?
When sending from your own email program, your signature will be included as per normal. If you log in to yahoo groups to send your message there, you will not be able to use an email signature (unless you add manually each time in plain text).

Should I request individual emails or daily digest?
I highly recommend individual emails. Some days you might get a few messages though, so some VAs set up a rule in Outlook which pops all emails from the group into a specified folder. This moves them from the inbox, if that’s what you would prefer. Individual emails are beneficial in 2 ways – 1. You receive jobleads straight away and will have a much better chance at responding in time, and 2. You will find you get to know the members better when you are able to respond to conversations and calls for help during the day.

What topics are discussed on the forum?
The vyvanetwork forum is mostly about business – your business, tips, questions, jobleads, gripes etc. It is a place of learning and fun.
